Great news in the Crafty Audiophile world! Those of you living in the greater Kansas City area can now browse our jewelry selection in person in the West Bottoms.
The West Bottoms is an area of Kansas City that was the original downtown of the growing city. The area was founded in 1860 and mostly consisted of large factories. In recent years the area has experienced a rebirth, as many of the old factories began housing antique vendors and the occasional haunted house, when in season.
While some of the vendors are open at various times throughout the month, over 20 factories are open and showcasing goods during Kansas City’s First Fridays festivities, throughout the first full weekend of each month.
My cousin recently took over the third floor of the Central Bag Company located at 1323 W. 13th Street, Kansas City, Missouri. She has been selling refurbished goods as a vendor in the building for over a year under the business name of The Dusted Attic, which has now become the name of her and her business partner’s floor. I’m excited to join them as a vendor.
I currently have a small space near the register, which will hopefully mean high traffic and a lot of purchases. The Dusted Attic had a soft launch during the month of July and will be celebrating their grand opening this weekend. Come visit us this weekend at the following times:
Friday, August 7 – 9am-8pm
Saturday, August 8 – 9am-5pm
Sunday, August 9 – 11am-4pm
The Dusted Attic is different from other West Bottoms vendors in that it is a mix of retail, furniture, antiques, flea market and art gallery. For more information, read this great feature in The Heartland Today.
